DVDs about Daphne du Maurier
Vanishing Cornwall – A film for television about Cornwall, its history and people, their customs, superstitions and legends, written by Daphne du Maurier as a companion to her book of the same name. Originally shown on BBC television in 1971 the film is narrated by Sir Michael Redgrave and directed by Christian (Kits) Browning.
Let’s Pretend: The Make Believe World of Daphne du Maurier – To mark her 70th birthday Cliff Michelmore interviews Daphne du Maurier, at her home in Cornwall, where they discuss her life and work. This programme was first shown on ITV television in December 1977 and was directed by Christian (Kits) Browning.
Rick Stein in du Maurier Country - Rick Stein pays personal tribute to novelist Daphne Du Maurier, in celebration of the centenary of her birth, by visiting the locations of Cornwall she brought to life in her books. Over the years many of Daphne du Maurier’s novels and short stories have been made into talking books, first as audio cassettes and later as CDs. However currently only an abridged version of Rebecca, read by Emma Fielding and published by Naxos Audiobooks, is readily available.
