New adaptation of Du Maurier's Rebecca


The Daphne du Maurier Website is delighted to confirm the news that there will be a new feature film adaptation of Du Maurier's 1938 bestselling novel REBECCA.

The film will star Lily James (Downton AbbeyWar & Peace, Mamma Mia) as the second Mrs de Winter and Armie Hammer (The Social Network, The Lone Ranger, Free Fire) as Maxim de Winter.

The film will be directed by Ben Wheatley with a screenplay by Jane Goldman.

Kits Browning, Daphne du Maurier's son, said: 'The Estate [of Daphne du Maurier] are very pleased with the news that Working Title and Netflix will produce a new Feature Film of REBECCA next year.'
