The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America – August meeting
The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America will be holding their next meeting on Sunday 29th August, 1pm – 3pm. This event will be a short story study of Don't Look Now. This most remarkable of all Daphne du Maurier's short stories, Don’t Look Now brings a perfect distillation of the confusion and desire that attend grief, which, as the story progresses, takes you through the winding streets of Venice to a conclusion of both logic and nightmare.
Daphne du Maurier published Don't Look Now in 1971. The film, directed by Nicholas Roeg, was released in 1973. Both the short story and the film are often considered the most frightening of all Daphne du Maurier's works.
This event takes place in Dallas, with space for 18 people to attend. The speaker for this event will be announced shortly. There are plans to make the meeting available via zoom, so watch this space for more information as it comes in.
