Britain’s Novel Landscapes with Mariella Frostrup – 3rd to 24th February 2022 at 9pm on More 4
A fantastic new series looking at women authors and their literary landscapes is beginning on More 4 on Thursday, 3rd February. The four programmes look at the works of a group of amazing writers and the landscapes that inspired them. The series begins on 3rd February with Jane Austen. On 10th February the subject of the programme is our very own Daphne du Maurier. Programme three on 17th February is about Beatrix Potter, and finally, on 24th February, the subjects of the programme are the Brontë sisters.
Mariella Frostrup, who has a wealth of experience, presenting programmes about books and their authors, explores the life and times of these classic British women authors and the landscapes that inspired them.
The Daphne du Maurier website provided information and support to the team who made the programme about Daphne. Many of you will know Lynn Goold, as chair of the Fowey Festival of Arts and Literature, and from her time running the Daphne du Maurier Literary Centre and Tourist Information Office in Fowey. She also provided her expertise for the du Maurier episode, and filmed with Mariella on the beach at Polridmouth very early one wet and chilly Sunday morning.
We are very much looking forward to seeing this series, especially the episode about Daphne du Maurier. Do get in touch and let us know your thoughts when you have watched the series. Contact us at info@dumaurier.org.
