Jake Salisbury’s Dissertation – ‘Places, houses whispered to me their secrets’: Interior and Exterior settings in the works of Daphne du Maurier
Daphne du Maurier's 70th birthday portrait
Jake Salisbury wrote his dissertation for his undergraduate English degree earlier this year at the University of Chester. Its title is – ‘Places, houses whispered to me their secrets’: Interior and Exterior settings in the works of Daphne du Maurier’ and is on the subject of Daphne du Maurier’s construction of setting and sense of place.
Jake has a passion for Daphne du Maurier’s excellent writing and is an avid reader of the Daphne du Maurier website.
We are delighted to say that he has agreed to us including his dissertation here on the Daphne du Maurier website so that others can read his work and share in his thoughts and opinions on Daphne’s writing from the point of view of the settings she used and her sense of place.
