Let's Pretend – The Make-Believe World of Daphne du Maurier

In the Video and Films section of the Daphne du Maurier website, we have had a series of eight clips from the film Let's Pretend – The Make-Believe World of Daphne du Maurier for some time.  But now, we have a link to the full video, thanks to the generosity of Lucy Elliot, a keen follower of both Daphne du Maurier and this website and its social media platforms.

Thanks to Lucy, you can now go to our Video and Films section here:  https://www.dumaurier.org/videosandfilms.php and click on the link to the film, which is on YouTube.

It's a great film, made to mark Daphne's 70th birthday.  Cliff Michelmore, who was a very well-known and popular broadcaster at the time, interviewed Daphne in her home in Cornwall, and they discussed her life and work.  The film was directed by Daphne's son, Kits Browning, and was first shown on ITV television in December 1977.

Daphne very seldom made public appearances and only agreed to take part in television and radio programmes a handful of times, so watching this film is a rare treat.  We hope you all enjoy it.
