Fowey Festival fundraiser events 2017
The trustees of the Daphne du Maurier Festival Society are again organising several fundraiser events in the run up to the Festival in May.
The first event was a lunch date, on Wednesday 18th January, at the Old Quay House Hotel in Fowey. A delicious meal was enjoyed by all and this was followed with a talk by Chris Hope Wynne. Chris called his talk Crime and Cardiac Surgery and it proved to be an interesting and entertaining look back at his life as both a perfusionist at a number of London hospitals and as a criminal defence barrister at the Old Bailey.
The next event to look forward to is a Bingo Night at the Galleon in Fowey on Monday 20th February, eyes down 7.30pm and top prizes to be won. Karen and Lee quite often hold Monday night charity bingo evenings at the Galleon and they are always very popular so, if you want to join other Festival enthusiasts on that evening, my advice is to get there in plenty of time.
There is also another Festival lunch date to look forward to on Wednesday 22nd February. This time it will take place at the Fowey Hotel, 12 noon or 12.30 lunch. The speaker will be the distinguished artist Alan Cotton. Alan will give an illustrated talk on his artistic adventures, including his experiences as the official artist on some of the foreign tours he has accompanied Prince Charles on.
