Hitchcock's Rebecca film is 80 years old
This week celebrates the 80th anniversary of the first screening of Rebecca, the classic film of Daphne du Maurier's most famous novel.
Produced by David O. Selznick and directed by Alfred Hitchcock, Rebecca was first screened in the United States on 12th April 1940. It starred Joan Fontaine and Laurence Olivier in the leading roles and has become a black and white classic, watched and enjoyed by millions.
