A Dark, Diabolic Beauty, Daphne du Maurier, Bodmin Moor, Cornwall
Bodmin Moor
A few weeks ago, we shared with you the first of Jo Wing's fascinating blogs about Daphne du Maurier. Today we bring you a second treat. This time Jo talks to us about Bodmin Moor, from three perspectives. Firstly her own visit there, on a gloomy, foggy day. Secondly, the journey that Daphne du Maurier and Foy Quiller-Couch took crossing the moor on horseback in equally terrifying weather conditions, and finally the way that almost disastrous trip was the inspiration for one of Daphne's most famous novels, Jamaica Inn.
