Helen Barrett lived in Cyprus for many years, returning to the UK recently. While in Cyprus, she researched a part of Daphne du Maurier’s life about which little was previously known and very little had been written.
With the help of Demetris Pierides, the management of The Forest Park Hotel in Platres, the Cyprus Mail, and a number of books that she was able to obtain locally, she now brings us a fascinating account of Daphne’s time in Cyprus in 1936 and 1937.
