Ghosts from the Library: Lost Tales of Terror and the Supernatural
In April, we told you about a forthcoming book called Ghosts from the Library: Lost Tales of Terror and the Supernatural. A brand-new anthology of previously unpublished and uncollected supernatural mysteries by some of the masters of the Golden Age, compiled and edited by Tony Medawar. After much anticipation, the wait is over, and the book will be published next week on 29th September 2022.
This collection is packed with previously unknown or forgotten short stories from some brilliant writers, including Arthur Conan Doyle, Agatha Christie, Josephine Tey and others. However, the highlight for all of us involved with the Daphne du Maurier website is the contribution by Daphne du Maurier – Terror.
Terror appeared in Bystander Magazine on 26th December 1928 and was the very first piece of Daphne’s work to be published. However, the story was never included in any of her collections of short stories or published anywhere else until now. So, this will be a significant moment in Daphne du Maurier’s publishing history.
