Hitchcock Season at the Angelika Film Centre, Dallas, Texas – October 2022
The Angelika Film Centre in Dallas is celebrating the master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, with a month-long screening of his classic films.
Most exciting for du Maurier followers is Hitchcock's adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's short story The Birds, which will be screened on 5th October. The film stars Tippi Hendren, Rod Taylor, Suzanne Pleshette, and Jessica Tandy. The story begins innocuously enough, but, in typically Hitchcock style, the tension builds as the birds start to behave in a disturbing way, evoking fear, which builds until absolute terror ensues.

Other films to be screened during October include The Rope, Dial M for Murder, Saboteur, and Psycho.
The Daphne du Maurier Society of North America often attends the showing of du Maurier's works as a group at this cinema. However, the film centre is only selling single tickets this time, so there will not be a group event. However, anyone in the area of the Angelika Film Centre should attend if they can, because The Birds is a truly fantastic film when shown on a big screen.
