| Jamaica Inn signed copy - does anyone know who Elaine is? I have in my possession a 1936 version of Jamaica Inn it was published by the German Publishers Tauchnitz and therefore not available for purchase within the UK at the time and therefore a European version. | hi nick, i wonder if it could be "ellen" doubleday instead of elaine, who was the wife of daphne's US publisher. the two women had, allegedly, an intimate physical relationship. dm's handwriting wasn't the worst but it can be misleading at times! but i might very well be mistaken. regards, audrey | Posted on Mon 30/12/24 03:46 PM |
