Du Maurier's short story 'The Breakthrough' republished as Penguin Modern
We are delighted to hear that Penguin have republished Daphne du Maurier's short story 'The Breakthrough' in their new Penguin Modern range. The books in the series cost just £1 and Penguin state that 'these books celebrate the ground-breaking authors who define the radical spirit of Penguin Modern Classics.' The series also includes Orwell, Beckett, Kafka, Parker, Stein, and Nabokov. It is fantastic to see du Maurier's brilliance recognised by her inclusion in this list. 'The Breakthrough' was first published in du Maurier's 1971 collection 'Not After Midnight'.
